Kristīne Bērziņa hosted the seminar “Experience economy in a post pandemic: how tourism companies can attract tourists and keep them exited”.

Target audience: Chulalongkorn University staff and students 

Experience economy in a post pandemic: how tourism companies can attract tourists and keep them exited. Experience economy is based on a concept that “people are social beings who will always crave social experiences where they gather with and around fellow human beings”. 

Lecture was designed to help tourism entrepreneurs and researchers to understand why travellers are not looking for services, but instead are searching for experiences.   

Lecture provided some tips that tourism companies can use to attract tourists who miss traveling, as well as how to make them eager to travel again after the pandemic.

The University of Latvia organised a conference session “Economic and employment challenges in the diverse Asia”.

Participants were Labour project seconders from Latvia, Thailand, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Myanmar. Conference program can be found here

In the conference Aichurok Ybyraimova (Siar research and consulting, Kyrgyzstan) was presenting resaerch results "Collaborative consumption practices in Kyrgyzstan", Aynura Aytmuratova (KIMEP University) was giving speach on "A comparative study of domestic violence in Kazakstan and Uzbekistan: legal frameworks and NGO interventions", Assoc. prof. Inese Kalniņa (University of Latvia) presented "The disproportionate increase in state debt of the Republic of Maldives: the government’s solution for the problem", Dr. Luxsnai Songsiengchai (Chulalongkorn University Institute of Asian Studies) gave a speach on "Occupational impacts of Thai disabled people after the COVID pandemic", researcher Kristīne Bērziņa (University of Latvia) shared her opinion on "Challenges of Southeast Asian Destinations and Tourism Companies in the Post-pandemic Period", Raushan Kanayeva (KIMEP University) presented "Dynamics of the number or research works in the field of women leadership in business management around the world".

Dr Abdunrohman Mukem, together with Dr Arifeen Yama, participated in the special meeting about ‘Thai-Turkish Relation’ with the Ambassador of Thai Kingdom to Türkiye, Excelency Apirat Sugondhabhirom, on December 21, 2022 at Embassy of Thailand, Ankara, Türkiye with 10 participants.

Meeting with the Thai Student Association in Türkiye: TSAT on December 17, 2022 at İstanbul, Türkiye with 210 participants.

Dr Arifeen Yama and Dr Abdunrohman Mukem were the guest speakers on the topic “Society and Politics in Thailand,” December 14, 2022 at Faculty of Political Sciences C-163, Marmara University, İstanbul, Türkiye. There were around 52 students of International Relations at Marmara University that attended.

Sadha Ahmed conducted a seminar on 6th December 2022 on "Exploring the sustainability of the accommodation sector: a case of Kaafu Atoll" for the Geoscience faculty members at Stockholm University, Sweden.

Zuneena Habeeb conducted a seminar on 6th December 2022 on "Understanding Wellness of Employees: Perspective of Resort Workers in the Maldives" for the Geoscience faculty members at Stockholm University, Sweden.

On 21 November 2022, Mao Chanvireak organised a sharing session about the secondment experiences in Sweden and Moldova as well as the findings of the transition from high school to university in Sweden to a group of 70 students at Preahenkosa Secondary School, located in Siem Reap.

Dr Abdunrohman Mukem participated in the lecture of "The Canadian Social Aids" by the Canadian Professor from York University. On November, 9, 2022 at Faculty of Political Science, Marmara University, Göztepe Campus, İstanbul, Türkiye with nearly 75 participants.

Mao Chanvireak participated in an international conference on Domestic Violence that was organized at Ion Creanga State Pedagogical University which participants were local NGOs who work on the domestic violence in Moldova, professors, medias, and government on 27 October, 2022.

Dr Abdunrohman Mukem attended the workshop on ‘The Global rise of modular emergency regimes Türkiye and Beyond.’ On October 14, 2022 at İstanbul Policy Center, İstanbul, Türkiye with 32 participants.

Dr Abdunrohman Mukem participated in the Seminar on “The West and Femininity” by Lauren Booth, the renowned speakeer on October 11, 2022 at ILKE Vakfi, Aziz Mahmut Hüdayi Mah, Üsküdar, İstanbul, Türkiye with nearly 40 participants.

Mao Chanvireak organised a workshop about the Cambodia Educational System with a group of 20 students from the Psychology and Education Science Faculty of Moldova State University on 10 October, 2022.

Dr Abdunrohman Mukem attended the workshop on ‘Hearing each other out: Greek-Turkish Relation and Cyprus.’ On October 10, 2022 at Marmara University, İstanbul, Türkiye with 70 participants.

Mao Chanvireak presented about Cambodia to a group of 50 students at Ceadir-Lunga Vocational School on 29 September, 2022.

Mao Chanvireak participated in a workshop about the gender equality and sexual harassment at Ceadir-Lunga Vocational School on 28 September, 2022.

Mao Chanvireak joined one of the domestic violence class of the Faculty of Philosophy and Education Science. In addition, he also presented about Cambodia on 24 September, 2022.

Sunhenglay Hak conducted a briefing paper research on the topic of “Sustainable Waste Management in Stockholm University”.

In the time of working on the briefing paper, he spoke to people in Property Management Department at the university including the Internal Environmental Specialist and Environmental Coordinator to gather the data and information on how wastes are being managed in the university themselves. Moreover, he interviewed with representative of Student Union to derived additional information and to study the behavior of students and individual comply with the policy and procedure of waste handling and controlling.

Mao Chanvireak participated in a workshop, organised by EcoVision about Environmental Education in which participants were teachers from primary, secondary school and university. It aims to share and encourage teacher to use non-formal education methods in formal way on 24 August, 2022.

Zeenath Solih, along with two other colleagues namely, Aminath Zaina and Aishath Shirmeen, conducted a seminar on 'Maldives Tourism developments and challenges' for about 25 PhD students and all staff of the Anthropology Department, ISCTE.
