Stockholm University is Sweden’s pre-eminent center for research within science, humanities and social sciences. It is organized across four faculties, comprising 64 academic departments between them, with its main campus located just north of the city of Stockholm. Stockholm University boasts a longstanding tradition of openness and innovation. Four of its researchers have previously received Nobel Prizes, while a fifth was awarded the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Science in Memory of Alfred Nobel. The university has about 50,000 undergraduate and master’s students, with an annual intake of over 1000 foreign exchange students, offering about 80 English-taught degree programs. Stockholm University has a longstanding experience with international collaborative research projects funded within Swedish and European research programmes.
